The Role – Senior Library Assistant

The senior library assistant will work on current awareness, cataloguing & circulation, library queries, training and assist with daily library tasks. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to get involved in all aspects of the library service.

Duties include:

• Current awareness – legal updates and legislation tracking.

• Library queries - responding to research requests & information desk duties.

• Training – assist with the delivery of training and training documentation.

• Cataloguing & book circulation, maintain department print collections.

• Participation in library projects and services including working on metrics, archiving and special collections.

Requirements

• Library qualification and minimum 2 years’ experience working in a library.

• Have strong IT skills including MS Office.

• Background in law and/or previous experience in a legal library is an asset.

• Have a flexible, efficient, enthusiastic and proactive approach to work.

• Have strong organisational skills and ability to plan, prioritise, manage time and multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
