Position: Research Assistant

We are seeking to recruit a Research Assistant with specialist knowledge of energy policy and/or regulation to provide professional support to the work of our energy team within our Construction, Infrastructure and Utilities department.
The Role
This is an exciting, newly created position, supporting our market-leading energy team. This role will see the successful candidate work to deliver research and high-quality written materials on emerging and novel issues relating to the energy markets in Ireland.
Collaborate with our team to develop topics for research and analysis across energy markets (to include the I-SEM Capacity Market Code and Trading & Settlement Code), energy policy, and regulation.
Research and draft publications, ezines, client alerts, and other materials.
Track policy and regulatory developments related to agreed research topics.
Prepare content for publication across a variety of platforms.
This is a part-time fixed term role that might suit candidates pursuing postgraduate research degrees with an interest in energy markets, policy, regulation, or economics.
This is a flexible, largely remote position, with occasional in-person meetings as required to support ongoing workflows, with dates and times to be mutually agreed.
The Team
Our energy team sits within the Construction, Infrastructure & Utilities department.
Requirements
Excellent knowledge of energy markets (to include the I-SEM Capacity Market Code and Trading & Settlement Code), energy policy, and energy regulation in Ireland, gained through either relevant employment and/or an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in economics, policy regulation, or complimentary discipline.
Strong writing, research, editorial, and analytical skills.
Experience analysing and researching complex policy and/or regulatory issues, in an academic, professional research, or professional practice setting.
Track record of high-quality written publications, or demonstrable experience of contributing to substantial research projects, policies, or publications.
Good IT skills, skilled in the use of research databases.
Ability to manage workloads to meet deadlines.
